The Place where the Worlds greatest Civilizations of all time come to battle.

For years Historians have argued which civilization had the greatest army of all time but none can or ever could come to a consensus. The American army is great now but would they have been any match for Rome at its height? Sure the British army conquered the most land but what were the Mongols who almost conquered as much land but centuries earlier? What I’m attempting to do is pit eight if the world’s greatest armies of all time (in my opinion of course) and have each one of them “fight it out” to see which one is better. The fighting will be measured in tactics and overall quality of army and each of the civilizations will be lead by its greatest leader at the time and the greatest period of that time. So the answer now become, who will come out on top?

Just a little disclaimer here for you before you read too far into this.

            1. I’m 17 years old at the time I’m writing this so if my opinion sounds wrong or uneducated, it probably is.

            2. I’m doing this just for fun and to promote discussion about this subject, feel free to disagree with me as to the civilizations I picked and the winners of the matches.

            3. Please e-mail comments, suggestions, and any helpful advice you have to rg_77057@hotmail.com. Mostly I just want to know that someone actually looks at the site.

Of course a tournment this big and complicated there must be rules to govern it and so here are the rules I am going by and I’ll try to explain why I am using those rules.

Rules:

  1. The bracket of the tournment as to what civs will face each other will be chosen at random and which I have no idea who will be facing who at the time of writing this. The reason for this is that if it is truly a great civilization then it should win no matter who they fight.
  2. The Civilization will be lead by their greatest leader (which will be of my opinion) at the height of their power. An example would be that while George Washington is one for the (if not the) greatest leader for the Americans, he will not "lead" the Americans in this tournment because the American army at this time were more dangerous to themselves than they were to an opponent.
  3. Who wins each battle will be determined not by weapons each army uses or used but its tactics and the overall quality of the men, leaders, and country at the time of its height.
  4. Terrian will have little significance in the measuring up of the armies because most if not all the civilizations I have chosen have shown they can win at any terrian.
  5. The battle simulations I write for each match are for entertainment purposes only and I've already determined the winner of the match before I write the simulation.
  6. I have no foreknowledge of what the first round matches will be nor who will win until I write the actural winner down. Most writing on this website is done before I even know the match ups.
